When a cactus dies in the desert, it sheds its skin and often unveils a quite a beautiful, intricate structure underneath. This prickly pear is showing signs of both its skin, which is now turning brown, and the skeleton underneath.
Creating a beautiful image makes me smile, either by capturing a great photo straight out of the camera, or by enhancing it through creative post-processing touches. My hope is that when others see those images, that they will smile as well.
